Ingrina caves by SUP: €58, snorkelling and the Raposeira meeting point

Updated September 12, 2026 · 6 min read

Paddleboarders exploring the rocky coast and caves near Ingrina

The Stand Up Paddle Tour with Snorkelling to Ingrina Caves is a local alternative to watching the coast from a boat. You propel the board yourself, with instruction and stops that may include swimming and snorkelling. Book it because you want that active relationship with the water, not because “caves” sounds like a passive sightseeing attraction.

Tour 38499 appears in our September 12, 2026 catalogue at from €58 per person, with three and a half hours, 55 reviews and 5/5 stars. The short description says three hours, while Coastline Algarve’s own programme also lists three. Confirm the overall meeting-to-return duration; the difference is not evidence of an extra half-hour paddling.

You meet in Raposeira, not at Sagres harbour

The operator gives its garage at EM1257, number 6, Raposeira as the meeting point. Ingrina is the beach destination, and Sagres is the nearby base many visitors recognise. Those are three different references in the same outing. Do not turn up at Porto da Baleeira with a paddleboard booking.

Coastline Algarve describes pickup as possible in Sagres and other named places, but that is not proof it is included in every booking channel or price. Send your accommodation address and ask about availability, cost and the return arrangement. If you drive yourself, use the meeting pin in the confirmed instructions rather than going straight to the beach.

The distinction matters after the activity as well. Anyone meeting you for lunch needs to know whether you return to Raposeira or remain near the beach. Agree that with the operator before making a plan that depends on leaving equipment or transport behind.

What the outing actually involves

The operator’s programme describes a land introduction to paddleboarding, a gradual start on the water, exploration of coastal formations and caves, and opportunities for snorkelling or swimming. It also mentions optional cliff jumping and photographs. These are different elements of one outing, not a promise that every advertised activity will happen at every departure.

A first-time paddler should expect to spend attention on controlling the board. That can be satisfying, but it means you are not simply looking around while a skipper handles everything. Ask the guide how the group adapts if someone cannot comfortably stand or needs more help. We do not prescribe a workaround that the operator has not agreed.

Cave entry depends on the actual conditions and the guide’s decision. Do not convert the title into a guarantee of entering every opening. If being inside a particular cave is the only reason you would book, ask whether it is even part of this route before comparing prices.

Is this the protected side of the peninsula?

Ingrina offers a different coastal setting from the exposed cape, but “more sheltered” is not a weather forecast. The sea can still move, and a smaller bay is not a promise of flat water. We do not claim that this tour runs when every other water activity in Sagres is cancelled.

That distinction is especially useful when choosing between this outing and coasteering. SUP involves managing a board and paddle; coasteering involves progressing between water and rock without one. Neither is automatically an easy substitute for someone uncomfortable in the sea.

The guide can assess the route on the day. Your job before booking is to explain your experience and preferences honestly. If your priority is staying dry, the land outings in Sagres are a better starting point than searching for a water tour that might not feel like one.

Price and what to compare

At the catalogue starting price, two participants come to €116. This example does not establish the price for a parent sharing a board with a child. Ask for the actual participant categories and total payable for your party on your date.

The operator lists paddleboard equipment, a wetsuit, a buoyancy aid, snorkelling equipment and session photographs. Check those inclusions in the option you buy. A lower advertised amount elsewhere may use a different participant category, timing or booking fee; compare the final basket rather than treating two search snippets as equivalent offers.

For someone who already paddleboards, the value is the guided coastal route and local organisation as much as the basic lesson. For a first-timer, equipment and instruction remove some preparation, but they do not remove the physical effort of the outing. That is the useful difference from a boat ticket.

Children: sharing a board changes the decision

The operator’s direct page publishes a minimum age of 6 and says children aged 6 to 11 go on the same board as an adult. That is this programme’s published arrangement, not a general SUP rule or automatic confirmation that your selected reseller option accepts the same booking.

Ask about the child’s size, suitable buoyancy equipment and the adult’s paddling responsibilities before paying. Sharing a board is not the same as having a separate seat on a boat. If the adult is also a complete beginner, tell the operator so it can assess the arrangement.

Shade and toilets are shore questions here: this is a paddleboard outing, not a vessel with onboard facilities. Ask what is available at the actual departure beach and whether breaks fit your family’s needs. A child who wants to stop early should not be relying on a café being beside the group at every stage.

What makes the day easier to organise

Bring water, swimwear, a towel and dry clothes. Have any questions about sun protection answered by a pharmacist or paediatrician as appropriate. Ask where valuables stay and how the included photos are delivered, rather than planning to use a phone while balancing on the board.

Leave time after the advertised outing for changing and onward travel. If conditions change, use the contact and cancellation terms attached to your booking; we do not promise a particular refund or replacement route. The Sagres guides index has alternatives for the rest of the day if paddling no longer fits the weather or your group.
